Michelle – Expanded Duty Assistant & Orthodontic Assistant
Michelle is a Certified Orthodontic Assistant known for her work ethic and generous spirit. She has been in orthodontics for 10 years and is now learning general dental assisting. Michelle loves to help people and see patients smile with pride after their dental work is complete. She has volunteered in the past with FLA-MOM – which is the Florida Mission of Mercy – to help low and no-income people with their dental work. When Michelle is not working, she spends quality time with her family and friends – and enjoys being outdoors kayaking, paddle-boarding, snorkeling, and fishing. Michelle moved from Jacksonville and finds she is loving life here in Key West where the people are friendly, the weather is warm, and Isle Smile staff share a camaraderie and desire to help others.
Joseph – Expanded Duty Assistant & Admin
Joseph McDavitt brings 17 years of dental experience to Isle Smile. He is not only an Expanded Duty Assistant but holds an associate degree in Health Information Management. Joseph is licensed in dental radiography and expanded functions for dental auxiliaries as well as fabrication of temporary crowns and bridges. Joseph brings a keen sense of customer service to the day-to-day running of a successful business – and is the former owner of Graffiti, a prominent Duval Street clothing store in Key West. When Joe in not working, he spends his free time strength training, enjoying Bikram yoga, biking, and being a well-rounded traveler.
Dana – Dental Hygienist
Dana is originally from Romania. Her mother was a dental technician and after finishing school, Dana started working in her mom’s lab. The dentist who worked next door took Dana under his wing to teach her more about dentistry. While working as a dental assistant Dana began classes at a dental hygiene school. After graduating from NYC CUNY college in 1986, she worked in Staten Island and then moved on to New Jersey. After moving to the Florida Keys, Dana worked in Marathon until 1998 before working with Dr. Pape until 2003. She then moved to Sebastian, Florida, where she continues to work on and off for Dr. Pape.
When not helping patients learn more about their oral hygiene feel better and healthy she likes to oil paint and plans to become a professional artist once she retires. She also enjoys camping and gardening and has a deep passion for nutrition.
