Brushing and Flossing: A Few Facts

Posted .

You know that brushing and flossing your teeth are both important, but do you know which should come first? Would you be surprised to learn that the order doesn’t really matter? In reality, it’s far more important that you brush and floss properly.

As you may know, you should brush twice a day—but did you know that you should remember to brush for two minutes at a time? You should also remember to brush in circular motions to remove as much plaque from your teeth as possible. Sadly, if you don’t remove your plaque, it will turn into tartar. Sadly, you’ll need help from a dental professional to help you remove it.

Still, while it’s important for you to know how to brush properly, you should also remember to floss correctly. For example, did you know that you should use a foot and a half of floss every time? You see, it’s important for you to try to use a different section of floss for each tooth. This will help you stop bacteria from spreading. You should also remember to move your floss up and down, rather than back and forth. Finally, please remember to floss gently. Otherwise, you could accidentally damage your gums.
